We make it a policy to ensure that all staff members are up-to-date on the latest technology and techniques to make your visit as comfortable and effective as possible. Dr. Scott A. Frick![]() Dr. Frick has been practicing at the Maple Grove Vision Clinic and Crystal Vision Clinic for the past eight years. He received his undergraduate degree in mathematics from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD in 1994 and then graduated from the Illinos College of Optomery in 1998. Dr. Frick practices primary care optometry with an emphasis on contact lenses, and he enjoys helping patients bring the world into focus. He is an active member of the Minnesota Optmetric Association, American Optometric Association and the Minnesota Chapter of VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity). Dr. Frick lives in Minnetonka with his wife, Cassie; son, Owen; and dog, Frank.
Dr. James J. Hess![]() Dr. James Hess, a native of Paynesville, MN, joined the practice in 1979 after graduating from the Illinois College of Optometry. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Minnesota Optometric Association, the Crystal Lions Club, and Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity(VOSH). Dr. Hess enjoys volunteer activities, and travels with VOSH to provide third world countries with free eye care and eyeglasses. He has been honored to receive the Distinguished Service Award by the Minnesota Optometric association and is a Melvin Jones Fellow and Helen Keller award winner of the Lions Club. He also was a winner of the Eleven Who Care award. He is married to his wife Margie and has two stepsons. Both him and Margie enjoy fishing and spoiling their 4 grandchildren.
